Math Homework
Lately, every night I get home I’ve been doing math homework pretty much all night. The boys are doing geometry, in Hebrew. The pictures are self explanatory but the directions are difficult to understand. This is mainly because the Hebrew language doesn’t actually have as many words as many other languages. This means that they use the same words to mean different things depending on the context. While this may make Hebrew poetry very beautiful due to all the complex meanings one can draw out of the words used, it makes math instructions rather difficult. For example, here’s a Google Translate version of a page of math homework:
“Bearing 14 heights at the same time Compare Sartotax with the group members’ drawings, and it is well known that you have some heights that can be made for a rib at the same time. Where are the heights at the same time, drawn to the same side. Ace the heights piled up on the same side are worth additional missions a. Here are some of the same parallels. Check each frame if any of the red sections of the tortoise is elevated in parallel. If so, mark his side pretty and what is different in each frame between the men who are D + ity Auck and Y 6 – 0?”
Here’s what the page looks like:
Good luck figuring that out.
