I usually take the car to work (for my one day a week of work 😑.)  Except if Val needs the car or if it’s in the shop.  And last week it was in the shop (again 🙄🙄) so I took the bus to work.  And this time I decided to step it up a notch and take the train instead of just the bus.

I took the bus from half a block away from our apartment to the train station in Herzliya.  As I tried to walk into the train station I was asked if I had “permission” to enter.  I said, huh?  Apparently you’re supposed to fill out an online form ahead of time where you stipulate that you’re not sick, etc, due to COVID, and so they can limit the number of people in the station.  Eventually they let me pass after recording my ID number.  Then I was able to buy a train ticket at the counter and walk upstairs to the tracks where I waited 15 minutes for the next rain.  I successfully got off at the right stop in Caesarea, then walked 6-7 minutes to the office.

you can see the British influence in the language 😀

On the way home, I was able to figure out how to do the online permission form and buy a ticket online for the return train, which I took back to the Herzliya bus station, and from there transferred to a bus into Ra’anana.  All in all it was pretty smooth.  And I have to say, the trains are very modern.  They have double decker cars, they’re fast, they’re clean and they’re quiet.

very empty, a good thing with COVID i guess
