First two boxes

OK we had a nice break though the holidays but now its time to get moving again.  First off, we have finally started the remodeling project to update our house so that we will be better able to either rent it or sell it.  Since we’ve had to empty the china cabinet, we’ve taken the opportunity to begin boxing stuff up either for storage or to be eventually shipped to Israel.  So, yes, those are our first two official Aliyah boxes!!

In the meantime, since we’ve settled on Ra’anana, I’ve sent some preliminary emails about getting the kids registered for schools for next year (and been told in response that its way too early for that 😕), emailed the hospital in Kfar Saba where I hope to work (also been told its too early for that 😷😕), and figured out that not only do we need to get our medical documents/licenses/diplomas notarized at the Israeli Consulate (done), but also officially translated into Hebrew.

And finally, we received an email from JAFI (Jewish Agency for Israel – the official body responsible for Aliyah) notifying us of a recent rule change.  Now, instead of requiring an Apostille only for marriage certificates, you also need them for birth certificates.  That means I need to get six more of them.  😞😠
